🚨Planners Listen Up! My top 3 action items for you in 2024:

1. Charge appropriately for the time, expertise and attention to detail you put in. You’re doing the entire event planning industry and yourself a disservice for not applying rates that are realistic for what we do.

2. Keep it moving from Clients who ghost you. Whether it’s those inquiries you respond to that end up in the abyss or Clients you’ve actually worked with who one day just fall off the face of the earth with no explanation… there’s ALWAYS more business out there.

3. Work with Vendors who value you. Gone are the days where you should put up with working with a DJ who rolls their eyes, disregards your role and the fact that your mutual client booked you for a reason. So long to the vendors who don’t read emails and throw out all logistical instructions regarding load in/load out, timelines, etc. There are SO many event vendors out there who value the partnership a planner brings to the table. Find them.

🚨Top 3 things I always do as an Event Planner to prep for an initial venue site visit:

1. Client Intake - Meet with my client in advance and conduct a thorough deep dive intake of everything they are initially envisioning for their event from A to Z.

2. Contract Review + Venue Research - Ask my client for their venue contract to conduct a thorough review of all details + verbiage and research the venue if I haven’t worked there before.

3. Create Agenda + Notes Doc - Create a site visit notes doc specific to the event that lists details from my client intake, details from my client’s contract + my full agenda of what I need to accomplish at this site visit with my questions for the venue coordinator.

Always bring your tape measure!
